Abstract: This paper describes an integrated Design Thinking approach with objectives, activities, tools, and relevant results that has been applied in academia in the past. Recently. the approach has been applied in teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our research is based on case study methodology. The main findings are that it is possible to apply an integrated approach to Design Thinking in the context of a pandemic and working online that meets the needs of both higher education and the company. The paper offers an integrated approach to Design Thinking, two case studies in which this approach has been applied during a pandemic, and key success factors for the application.
